INDIANAPOLIS – Takuma Sato has won his 2nd Indianapolis five hundred following Spencer Pigot crashed seriously exiting Flip four, bringing out the caution with 5 laps remaining and forcing what experienced been a thrilling race to end beneath caution.
Right after dominating most of the race, Scott Dixon experienced been chasing Sato for about fifteen laps and was beginning to bite into a hole that experienced emerged in lapped website traffic. But the race ended when Pigot spun into the exterior wall, then crossed back again throughout the monitor and slammed into the protection tires that guard the entrance to pit lane.
Pigot exited the motor vehicle but was assisted on to a stretcher. His motor vehicle was left in items throughout the entrance stretch.
Dixon pulled up together with Sato with Graham Rahal, his teammate, on the other side to end third.
