Ford Motor Co claimed Monday it has joined the Initiative for Dependable Mining Assurance, which aims to endorse use of third-occasion assessments of mining techniques to guard human legal rights.
Ford claimed its prepared investment decision in electric cars would boost the company’s reliance on mined material, notably related to production of EV batteries. As a component of the initiative, Ford would collaborate with manufacturers throughout the field to endorse liable mining.
IRMA offers third-occasion verification and certification of mining techniques to guard human legal rights, communities and atmosphere alongside the supply chain. Previous calendar year, German luxury automaker BMW joined the initiative.
