The 2020 Maserati Quattroporte is an Italian luxury sedan that will come in various flavors. Just lately, we have had a couple pass via the Autoblog brief-phrase loaner fleet, and I resolved to take the option to file an exhaust clip and see whether or not it is really louder than my 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392.
You assumed we have been performed with this, failed to you? Hah.
The Maserati is a bit of an odd duck. Like the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, which kicked off this sequence, it is really an Italian sedan driven by a turbocharged V6 making a respectable 430 horsepower. Not like the 4-cheese, the Quattroporte in our garage was not its large-general performance variant. In fact, if it have been, it would have a V8, as all points need to. I’m kidding. Or am I?
Sadly, the V6 probably retains the S This fall back in this certain “examination,” which resulted in a reading through of 78.two decibels. That’s far brief of my Challenger, which checked in at 85.7 dB and remains our reining champion … for now.
The Quattroporte is in moderately good enterprise, even though, thanks to the Porsche Cayenne S Coupe, which manufactured a very similar final result. Yeah, that is an SUV, but this is a luxury automobile, right? So the missions are very similar. Heck, they even make about the same electric power.
These assessments are only vaguely scientific, and I perform them utilizing a cost-free Android OS seem-measuring application and the largely enclosed area of my private garage. For people who are unfamiliar with my methodology (and all over again, I use that phrase fairly loosely), you can refer back to my earlier assessments with the Alfa or the Cayenne S Coupe for a lot more facts.
Or, just click the very links to listen to engines go burble-burble it is really solely up to you.
