Caterham Cars sold to Japanese firm VT Holdings

2 min read

Caterham has been bought to the Japanese retail group, VT Holdings, marking the very first time the legendary brand has handed from British handle in its in close proximity to 50-12 months background.

The sale isn’t entirely out of the blue, as VT Holdings has been Caterham’s Japanese importer since 2009, providing more than a hundred and twenty Caterham automobiles each year across its network of two hundred sellers. So the new homeowners have a rather good grasp on Caterham’s important ideals.

The firm’s Chief Govt, Kazuho Takahashi, also shares quite a few of Caterham’s passions, including a passion for racing. Through the past twenty years, he’s competed in the Japanese Grand Touring Automobile, Super GT and Super Taikyu championships, professing a few of wins and a handful of podiums throughout his vocation.

Takahashi has now retired from the fastest Japanese racing collection, as he recently turned 68 years outdated but he’s still racing sports automobiles in the lesser divisions. He also looks to favour British automobiles as, for the previous few of years, he’s raced a Lotus Evora.

Commenting on his company’s acquisition of Caterham, Takahashi claimed: VT Holdings is proud to welcome Caterham to the group. We have not only purchased a globally renowned effectiveness car or truck producer but turn out to be custodians of a motoring legend. We will shield and create the 7 to meet the legislative problems that lie forward.”

Graham MacDonald, main government of Caterham Cars, extra: “Takahashi-san and the staff actually recognize the DNA of the Caterham brand, our heritage, our shoppers and our passions. As a staff, we’re all psyched about setting up to compose the upcoming chapter for this very unique brand.”

VT Holdings has also invested in the Thai and South African markets, which means Caterham could quickly appear to expand its income network. At the moment, the British brand sells to twenty markets all-around the world, with exports accounting for sixty percent of its income.
