2022 Porsche Cayenne Is Nearly Ready For Production

1 min read

It remains to be seen if Porsche is making any changes under the hood. In its current guise, the Cayenne is offered with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 producing 335 hp and 332 lb-ft and a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 434 hp and 405 lb-ft. Moving up the range, the Cayenne GTS and Turbo models pack a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 good for 453 hp/457 lb-ft and 541 hp/567 lb-ft respectively.

The yellow stickers on the prototype indicate it has an electrified powertrain. In its range-topping Turbo S guise, the Cayenne E-Hybrid produces 670 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque from an electrified 4.0-liter twin-turbo. These engine options should carry over, possibly with some minor upgrades. Since the refreshed Cayenne has been spied multiple times this year, an official debut should be around the corner. Most likely, the updated Cayenne will go on sale during 2022 to take on the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
