NUERBURGRING, Germany — Mercedes will not supply engines to Pink Bull and AlphaTauri when Honda pulls out of System 1 at the finish of subsequent calendar year, motorsport head Toto Wolff explained on Friday. The Austrian, also principal and section-proprietor of the Mercedes F1 team, told reporters at the Eifel Grand Prix that there was no spare capacity.
Mercedes presently supply engines to their functions team, to Racing Level and Williams, and will also be working with McLaren from subsequent period. Ferrari supply their individual team, Haas and Alfa Romeo.
Honda introduced last week they ended up pulling out as an engine service provider.
Questioned whether or not Mercedes would be open to giving Pink Bull, Wolff replied: “No … we are practically in a point out that we can’t make power models for all of us. So there is no capacity.”
The only other remaining provider is Renault, who will only have their individual renamed Alpine team subsequent calendar year and will be obliged under the laws to give engines to Pink Bull if asked for.
