New Delhi: The emission norms for tractors to be applicable from October following yr, and for Construction Machines Automobiles from April 2021, stated the Ministry of Road Transportation and Highways on Monday.

“The Ministry of Road Transportation and Highways has notified amendment to CMVR 1989 by means of GSR 598(E) dated September thirty, 2020 deferring the applicability date for implementing the following phase of emission norms for tractors (TREM Stage-IV) from October this yr to October one following yr,” the Ministry stated in a assertion.

“For the Construction Machines Automobiles, the applicability of the following period of emission norms are proposed to be applicable with influence from April one, giving a deferment of 6 months,” it added.

The amendment “also tries to prevent confusion” in between the emission norms of other motor motor vehicles, which have BS as norms and these for agricultural machinery construction machines motor vehicles and these kinds of other machines.

The amendment consists of independent emission norms for agricultural machinery (agricultural tractors, electric power tillers and combined harvesters) and Construction Machines Automobiles and Alter in the nomenclature of emission norms from Bharat Stage (CEV/TREM)-IV and Bharat Stage (CEV/TREM) -V to TREM Stage-IV and TREM Stage-V for Agricultural Tractors and other Equipments and CEV Stage – IV and CEV Stage-V for the Construction Machines Automobiles.
